Is Crypto Halal?
It’s probably the biggest question you’ve been asking.
And if you’ve searched online, you’ve probably found completely different answers.
Some people say cryptocurrency is halal.
Others say it’s haram.
Others say, “It depends.”
So where does that leave you?
For many Muslim women, this uncertainty becomes the reason they never learn about crypto at all. Not because they aren’t interested, but because they don’t want to make a decision that compromises their faith.
If that resonates with you, you’re not alone.
This webinar was created to bring clarity to one of the most widely discussed topics in modern finance.
Together, we’ll explore how cryptocurrency works, the Islamic principles scholars consider when evaluating it, and why different scholarly opinions exist.
Our goal isn’t to simplify a complex discussion into a single answer. It’s to help you understand the different perspective and approach the topic with greater confidence and thoughtfulness.
Salam, I’m Shahd!
I'm a fintech professional, Islamic finance practitioner, blockchain educator, and investor with a passion for helping Muslims navigate the world of cryptocurrency with confidence and clarity.
Over the past several years, I've worked at the intersection of financial technology and blockchain, gaining first hand experience of how digital assets and decentralised finance are reshaping the future of money. Alongside my professional experience, I've built a diversified investment portfolio spanning real estate, ethical businesses, stocks, and digital assets, giving me practical experience across multiple asset classes rather than simply studying them in theory.
Alongside my professional work, I completed an AAOIFI Certified Islamic Finance program under the mentorship of Mufti Faraz Adam, allowing me to study the principles of Islamic finance while working directly within the blockchain industry.
I also hold a certification in The Shariah Guide to Bitcoin, Crypto and Blockchain from Al Balagh Institute, further strengthening my understanding of how emerging technologies can be evaluated through an Islamic lens.
Like many Muslims, my biggest question was never whether crypto was exciting.
It was whether it was halal.
That question led me on a journey of studying both the technology and the Islamic scholarship behind it. Today, my mission is to simplify that learning process for others by breaking down complex concepts into practical, accessible education that empowers women to make informed financial decisions aligned with their values.
Whether you're completely new to crypto or trying to separate facts from misinformation, my goal is to help you build knowledge before making decisions.
